About
Staff Selection Commission exam for Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) posts in central government departments and organisations.
Exam format
Computer-based Paper 1 from 2 to 6 November 2026 (proposed), in shifts. 200 questions, 200 marks, 2 hours: General Intelligence & Reasoning (50), General Awareness (50) and your engineering branch (100), with 1/3 mark deducted per wrong answer. Paper 2 (descriptive, branch-specific) follows in December. The exam city slip comes first, then the admit card a few days before your date.
What to carry
- Printed admit card or call letter
- Original photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN, voter ID, passport or driving licence) with the same name as the admit card
- Two recent passport-size photos, the same as the one you uploaded
- Anything else your admit card asks for
