Safety guidelines

Last updated 14 October 2026

These Safety Guidelines form part of the Terms of Use of Exam with Me. They describe the precautions that every User is expected to take when connecting with, communicating with or meeting another User. Most people on the Platform are students looking for company on a long journey, and these guidelines exist to keep it that way.

1. Nature of these guidelines

1.1 These guidelines are advisory in nature and are offered in good faith. They do not create any duty of care on the part of Rank Guard EdTech towards any User, and nothing in them shall be read as a promise that any other User is genuine, safe or who they claim to be.

1.2 We do not verify the identity of Users beyond confirming control of an email address. Every decision to share information with, travel with or meet another User is yours alone, and you make it at your own risk.

2. Before you agree to meet

  • (a) Meet only in a busy public place, such as the railway station, the bus stand or the area outside the examination center. Do not meet at a hotel, a lodge, a private vehicle or anyone's residence.
  • (b) Check what you can. Confirm that the examination, the date, the shift and the center the other person mentions match what their post says. If something does not add up, do not go ahead.
  • (c) Tell a family member or friend whom you are meeting, where, and at what time, and keep your phone charged.
  • (d) Keep conversations on the Platform until you are comfortable. Our chat is moderated and can be reported; a phone call or a third-party messaging app cannot.

3. During travel and at the center

  • (a) Keep your admit card, identity proof, money and phone on your person at all times. Do not hand them to anyone for safekeeping.
  • (b) Do not accept food, drink or medicine from someone you have just met.
  • (c) Follow the instructions issued by the examination conducting body and the staff at the center. No arrangement made on the Platform overrides those instructions.
  • (d) If you feel uncomfortable at any point, leave and go to a place where there are other people, staff or police.

4. Money, documents and personal details

4.1 Never send money, UPI payments, mobile recharges or gift cards to anyone you met on the Platform, whatever the reason given. Requests for money for tickets, accommodation or so-called leaked question papers are almost always fraudulent, and the sale or purchase of examination papers may itself be an offence.

4.2 Rank Guard EdTech will never ask you for your admit card, roll number, telephone number, password or any one-time password. Anyone who does so is not acting for us, and you should report them.

4.3 Do not share another person's personal details, photographs or contact information without their clear permission.

5. Reporting and blocking

5.1 You may report any chat or User by tapping Report in the chat or in the connection sheet. The person you report is not told who reported them. We review reports within 24 hours and may take any action described in the Terms of Use.

5.2 You may block any User by tapping Block. Once blocked, that User can no longer message you or see your posts, and any open chat between you is closed.

5.3 Complaints that cannot be made through Report, including complaints about content under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, may be sent to our Grievance Officer whose details appear in the Terms of Use.

6. What other Users can see

6.1 Your post shows your first name and the initial of your last name, an avatar generated from your name, the examination, date and shift, and your examination center and city. Posts made under earlier versions of the Platform may also show the city you were travelling from.

6.2 Your email address, date of birth, gender and home town are never shown to other Users. Your full name becomes visible only inside a chat that both of you have accepted.

7. Emergencies and helplines

7.1 If you or anyone else is in immediate danger, call the national emergency number 112 before doing anything else.

7.2 Cyber fraud and online harassment can be reported on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal at cybercrime.gov.in or by calling the helpline 1930. Women in distress may also call the Women Helpline on 181.

7.3 Please also report the matter to us so that we can act against the account concerned and preserve the records that the authorities may need.
